Critical Reading for College and Beyond-Ch7-Summary & Map

Inference is the act or process of drawing a conclusion based solely on what one already knows, and is the process of drawing a conclusion from given evidence. To reach a decision by reasoning. The following strategies will help me to effectively infer meaning:author's reason for writing, comparisons to illustrate their points between writing a telegram and writing in general, identifying an author's tone, recognizing his or her purpose for writing, noting the use of comparisons and implied similarities, picture the person with whom you are having a textbook conversation, and recognize information gaps. And also we need to combine the topic with new information you have learned, identify the topic of the reading material, and most important step is read carefully.
