A fact is a proposition that has been asserted to be either True or False, a piece of information about circumstances that exist or events that have occurred. For example, feelings can be facts. An expression for fact is a true statement in the current world state. The standards traditionally used to determine facts are verifiability, reliability, probability and plausibility.Verifiability means the data can be confirmed by another source.A second standard for determining facts is reliability. Probability, as tested through time and repetition, represents another standard used to determine the reliability of a fact. Plausibility is a fourth standard for facts, meaning they undergo the test of credibility.
